best buy holiday hours
2026.

Best Buy had not published its 2026 holiday store hours at the time of writing. It normally releases them through November. We will update this page with the confirmed hours as they go up rather than guess at them now.

Best Buy does not run one national timetable. Its own Holiday FAQ says many stores will be open for extended holiday hours, and that some stores may have different hours where required by local ordinances or landlord regulations. Mall based stores follow the mall.

So the only reliable answer for a specific store is that store's own page. The store locator lists hours per location and is the thing to check on the day, not a national guide, this one included.

What does not change is online. Best Buy states that the app and BestBuy.com are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, with chat support around the clock. If a store is shut, the site is not.

This is the number that actually matters over the holidays, and it is the one most people miss.

Best Buy's standard return window is 15 days. Bought on Black Friday, 27 November 2026, that expires on 12 December, nearly two weeks before Christmas. A gift bought on the day of the sale and opened on Christmas morning would be outside the standard window before it was even unwrapped.

Best Buy normally solves this with an extended holiday return window. For the 2025 season it published this: purchases made 31 October 2025 through 31 December 2025 had an extended return period through 15 January 2026. It had not announced the 2026 equivalent at the time of writing, and until it does the standard windows are what apply.

My Best Buy Plus and My Best Buy Total members get 60 days as standard, which covers the whole season without needing the extension. Activatable devices such as phones, cellular tablets and cellular smartwatches are 14 days for everyone regardless of membership, with Verizon devices at 30, and no holiday extension has historically applied to those.

Worth knowing before you plan around the sale. Best Buy's Price Match Guarantee excludes items denoted as Black Friday pricing, special daily or hourly sales, and anything on sale from the Thursday before Thanksgiving through the Monday after. For 2026 that is 19 to 30 November.

Outside that window Best Buy will match its own price drop inside your return window, which effectively turns the return window into price protection. Across Black Friday week it will not, so buying early carries no safety net.

If the goal is a good price rather than a queue, the store's opening time matters less than it used to. Best Buy has run its Black Friday event online and in store in recent years, and BestBuy.com does not close.
